Welcome to Guardian Advocates Inc
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to safeguarding the well-being of senior adults and adults with disabilities.
Donation pledges from local governments, organizations, grants, and residents are leveraged as a 50% match under this grant, and benefit the local communities and their residents.
We are your trusted partner in providing comprehensive guardian advocacy services across two distinct divisions:
•East: Serving Delaware, Grant, and Madison Counties
•West: Catering to Tipton, Howard, Cass, Fulton, and Miami Counties
Our Mission
Protect: We stand against neglect, self-neglect, abuse, and financial exploitation.
Advocate: We represent the best interests of those who may not be able to speak for themselves.
Support: We offer a network of resources and service coordination to ensure the well-being of our clients.
Facts About Guardian Advocates
-
… formed in 2018.
-
… clients are adults who do not have family or others to help them.
- As their court-appointed guardian, our staff and volunteers visit them, monitor and coordinate their care, handle their finances and public benefits, and ensure basic needs for them as a family member would do.
- We match volunteers to clients for whom our nonprofit provides guardianship services.
- Client referrals come from neighbors, hospitals, nursing homes, group homes, assisted living, mental health facilities, law enforcement, lawyers, adult protective services, families, and friends.
- We operate your county court’s Volunteer Advocates for Senior & Incapacitated Adults (VASIA) project that was created in 2013 by the Indiana Supreme Court’s office of Adult Guardianship.
Educating the Community
Guardian Advocates Inc. is not just about direct services; we’re also committed to raising public awareness. We offer educational resources and workshops focused on the intricacies of guardianships, as well as the caregiving needs of seniors and adults with special needs and incapacities.
Volunteer Advocates for Seniors or Incapacitated Adults (VASIA) Programs
We are always on the lookout for compassionate individuals to join our VASIA Programs. As a volunteer advocate, you’ll have the opportunity to make monthly visits to monitor the care and living conditions of our clients. Your involvement plays a crucial role in ensuring their well-being and quality of life.
Professional Guardianship Services
In addition to our volunteer programs, our dedicated staff at Guardian Advocates Inc. serve as the legal guardians for our clients. We operate through grant funds and generous donations, ensuring that each individual under our care receives the attention and support they deserve.
